Merry Christmas

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

  1. Wishing you a merry Christmas week, with deep regard. This year, at the age of 67, I finally made the symbolic connection in our faith between the manger (in French, to eat; also the wooden trough the barn animals ate from where the Christ child was laying) and the symbols of communion (John 6:54): "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day..." At my church, Christmas eve the teenagers contributed a dialogue stating that eternal life does not start afterlife, but is now and forever. A way in a manger.
